Things to do around town

Land Lubbers

Walking, hiking, biking, check out the really old graveyards there's 3 of them. There is a Civil war colonel buried here (A.C. Noyes) the township was named after him, he was buddies with Ulysses S. Grant who made frequent trips to Westport for fishing and hunting excursions.  Pretty sure Grant is not buried in Noyes tomb:)

Stargazing, on a clear night you can see them all!

You can mail a letter at the tiny post office across the street.  They still have the old letter box's from the 1800's.  While there check out the picture of Westport taken in 1900, big difference, Jordan cottage is in there.

Lots of road and mountain biking opportunities

You can also sit in the backyard and after a nice sunset roast marshmallows at the fire ring.

Water sports

Kettle Creek and the Susquehanna river are only 2 blocks away so Kayaking, Canoeing, rafting and tubing are good options.  Chances are we can transport you up river if you like, and you can exit the water on our ramp on Kettle Creek.  This makes river trips much nicer.  If you like a faster ride we really like to shoot Kettle Creek from the lower Dam to Westport when the water level is 2.5' or higher on our Kayak's.  If you are lucky you might see a Bald Eagle fishing in the river near town.  While you are floating in the river you may be over flown by A-10 Thunderbolts, also known as Warthog's practicing contour flying in the river valley.  You will be glad you are not a terrorist!

Swim, at two awesome secret swimming holes (we'll tell you where) in Kettle Creek, The river, or hit the Beach at the lake 8 miles up the road

Motor Sports

ATV- the Whisky springs trail system is 2 miles out of town, bring your 4 wheelers.  There are over 35 miles of trails with a wide variety of terrain.

We can store your Kayak, Canoe, Hang Glider or ATV in our Barn while you are in town.  If you ride in on a motorcycle we can find room for that as well.

On a wider radius..........

Blacktopping - For touring and sports car as well as motorcycles

Greenlaning - traveling off the beaten path in a Land Rover, SUV, and via off-road motorcycles.

There are literally hundreds and hundreds of miles of back roads in the Wilds

Check back here often as we will be adding step by step tours with attraction listings and restaurants etc...

Hang gliding at Hyner view, step off the 1500 foot mountain and soar with the eagles, then land and have a meal at the Eagles Nest bar and grill.

Check out the elk!  Everybody likes the elk.  Westport is in the Elk range and we get them in town from time to time, or take the scenic Elk drive for a really nice tour of the area.
